"Gracie" is a 2002 Limited Edition PT Cruiser in Light Almond Pearl Metallic. But that's where any resemblance to factory models end.
Almost all of her chrome has been 24K gold-plated, including seatbelt buckles and inside and outside handles. Gracie is adorned with genuine Swarovski crystals on her door locks, vent knobs, steering wheel, lugs, and has a jewelled handle in place of her back wiper, and teardrops too. Additionally, she has a gold grille, gold-plated stainless steel pillars and license plate frame, and gold accents along door and hatch edges. A gold sparkle pinstripe encircles Gracie, and her brand new shoes (tires) are glittered too.
She is lowered, has a K&N air filter and Tornado, magnets on her fuel line and she sports a Teflon coat. For shows, she is either decked out with (faux) white mink, or leopard, with an eye on giraffe soon. In her very first show in Vegas, she took third place! She has participated in shows and cruises in Monterey and Modesto, CA, Phoenix, AZ, as well as at home in Paso Robles, and San Luis Obispo, although Las Vegas is where she shines the brightest, in her additional 5.5 gross rhinestones (6.1mm Swarovski, of course!) for each of these occasions.
Gracie becomes a palace every year at the Live Oak Music Festival, a part of the well-established and luxurious(!) Camp Baar-Nekkid, located across from the base of the ramp that leads to the food court. Come by while strolling through camp! Gracie will be within a couple of ostrich boas distance from the chandelier and major floral arrangement in the grand entry. If you don't recognize a car, look for the velvet drapes...
Not content to be all for show, Gracie is an everyday driver as well as a working car. Her human is a working artist and has fostered many animals, so Gracie gets to see plenty of facets of work and play as a matter of course ferrying animals to the vet and artwork to shows. Persephone, a two-year-old blue point Siamese mix, is one of her best friends.
